FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My demo password has
stopped working.
The demonstration version of the software is
a 20 day trial. It is designed this way to give you plenty of
time to familiarise yourself with the various functions whilst
your live account is being set up.
If you have not already done so, you can get
the application form for a live account from
www.smctrader.com and
click on the link entitled “Download
your Info Pack”.
If, for some reason, you need more time to
practice with the demo version, you can register a new login by
clicking on the link entitled “download your free software” and
filling in all fields of the registration form. You can then use
this new login to re-activate your demo software – you will not
need to download again.
Note that your new login ID must be
different to the one you used initially.
How long does it take for me to
open an account?
Once an application is received it normally
takes between 3 to 7 working days for your account to be opened.
What is the minimum account opening
size?
The minimum account
opening size is AU$3000. If you would like to open an account in
a different currency such as the US dollar this is also
possible. You will be asked if you desire to leave the currency
in US dollars or if you want it converted into $AUD.
Do you have any tutorials that can
help me open my account?
We are currently in the process of making
tutorials that will facilitate the process of opening an
account.
How do I know that my funds will be
safe?
Your funds will be held
in the ANZ Bank. They will be held in what is called a Client
Segregated Account. This means your funds are linked to your
specific segregated account. The account is completely separate
to and has no connection with the day to day running of the SMC
Trader and its affiliated companies.
Do you have tutorials which assist
me to get the most out of
the SMC Trader?
Yes we do. There are
tutorials available on the platform as well as we have created
specific ones for you to learn from. It is our intention to
ensure that you are highly educated on the functionality and
potential of the platform.
The tutorials are in the
form of Videos and Guide sheets, so that it is really simple for
you to follow. We also encourage our clients to make us aware of
any potential areas in which you feel we should create tutorials
for.
If I have strong trading volume am
I able to receive a discount
on my trading?
Yes you can. For people
that trade infrequently, the difference in trading commissions
is minimal. If you have traded frequently over the course of 2
months and you would consider yourself an active trader, then
contact our office and we will discuss with you our 'Active
Traders' rates.
If I have any problems making a
trade, is there a phone number
I can call to get immediate assistance, even if I am trading overnight
on the international markets?
Yes we do. SMC Trader has
a developed relationship with
Sonray Capital Markets. They have
an established trading desk, which is in operation 24 hours a
day, 6 days a week. Whilst the markets are open, you have a live
trading desk to call.
